Majority Audio is a UK audio brand that we have covered several products over the years such as the Majority Audio Bard, Majority Tru Sport TWS and their well-known soundbar selection such as the Majority Everest 5.1 surround sound system.
This time we were sent the Majority D80 which is a pair of active Bookshelf Speakers that can be used to enhance your TV sound or could be connected to your laptop as part of your home office set-up.
First Impressions/Design
Just like the rest of the Majority Audio range, they are very budget-friendly only costing £99.95. First Impressions are they look quite pleasing to the eye even if they are made completely of plastic. Dig a little deeper and they boast 80 Watts of power and built-in amplifiers to provide you with an immersive experience.
As you might expect from them being bookshelf speakers all the controls and ports are all on one speaker. The D80’s allow ease of use with connectivity options such as Bluetooth but also HDMI ARC, USB, RCA, Optical and AUX ports.
They also provide easy-to-use volume control, treble and bass dials all on the same speaker alongside audio sources and EQ buttons that can be controlled on the speaker or via the remote control. The inclusion of HDMI ARC connectivity allows for shared remote use and faster digital sound processing so you can take advantage of them no matter how many different devices you have in your set-up.
How do they sound?
Well with the inclusion of 80W output, you get powerful audio suitable for most situations such as getting home after a long day and putting on some tunes to chill out to or using them to pump out some extra sound from the TV.
We used them in the home office to play some music via Spotify and I have to say the sound quality was solid. The built-in amplifiers bring you more of an impressive atmosphere and this is thanks to the silk dome tweeter that gives you a warm yet refined sound. Want to adjust the sound to your liking then simply adjust the dials at the rear of the speaker in which you can change the level of bass and treble.
Verdict
The Majority D80 Bluetooth speakers are very easy to set up and will pair with ease with most Bluetooth-enabled devices. The upwards-facing speakers are designed to fit in small spaces meaning they won’t take up much space on your home office desk or beside your TV.
If you are looking for a pair of budget-friendly bookshelf speakers that pack a punch in the bass department but also provide you with an immersive audio experience. For under £100 Majority has to be the brand you consider.
