British brand GeoSmartPro has created the AirLit, which is a device that is ideal for makeup vloggers creating beauty tutorials. The AirLit Smart Fan is not just a fan it is a smart fan that also comes with a ring light that comes in different shades of light and also has that phone holder so you can create videos when teaching them all-important makeup lessons. All of this for the cost of £89.99
Who is GeoSmartPro?
GeoSmartPro, as mentioned, are a UK brand that has been busy creating smart home products that improve our homes. The latest product the AirLit helped loads for ladies and men looking to make beauty tutorials in this remote working culture.
Design
The AirLit at first impression just looks like a fan, but it actually is designed for influencers or makeup artists. The AirLit is a small device that weighs less than 1.5 kg and is packed with features.
The AirLit comes with a magnetic mirror that will attach to the fan with ease and is perfect for hair and makeup applications.
The AirLit also allows users to change the angle with 180° vertical rotation and 270° flex rotation and brightness of the light that is built in just around the edge of the fan. I gave this to a friend of mine who was my now wife’s make-up artist on her wedding day who was impressed with the device, but more on that later.
The fan offers a two-tone light effect, which allows you to change the colour of the light from white to gold. This gives a different effect when applying make-up depending on your preference and skin tone.
The clever little device can also just be used as a fan for those who need to cool down on a hot day. Via the app, you can schedule the fan to come on and also adjust the temperature and speeds. The fan offers low, medium & high speeds. There is also nature mode, which mimics the natural airflow if you was outside.
The fan also has a telescopic extension from 400mm to a max of 1000mm. It allows you to adjust the brightness of the light from 3000 to 5000K depending on what you are using the device for. The lamp also helps with blue light reduction, therefore, protecting your eyes.
The AirLit comes with a battery life of 10,000mAh which provides 15 hours of usage, and also allows you to charge your device with the USB-C and USB-A ports on the rear of this device.
Smart Features
This smart fan offers a few features that link with the app. For example, if your room gets past a certain temperature the smartfan will switch on, but this is only done if you connect it to your Wi-FI. Your smart assistant will monitor the temperature of the room to turn the fan on or off, set a schedule for the fan via the assistant and you can also set a timer for up to eight hours in advance.
Performance
The AirLit can be used for a number of reasons such as a fan when working from home or to help with make-up videos. This was tested, on my wedding day and my now wife and her 6 bridesmaids all had their hair and makeup done using the AirLit.
The professional make-up artist Megan White she used on the day. Took advantage of the AirLit while doing the makeup on all the bridal party. The feedback when given was that she loved the fact you had either gold or white lighting as it would compliment peoples skin tones. She said that the balanced lighting improved the way you apply makeup and foundation.
She mentioned that the stepless dimming also made it better to create a flawless complexion, which is ideal for when you have a number of bridesmaids and a bride with different skin tones.
She noted that the fan speed levels allowed for the makeup to dry as its being applied, which produces a better application. She was impressed with the AirLit size and the fact you can adjust the fan/mirror using the telescopic extension. This means it is a portable product she can take with her on the go whenever she is working.
Her only negative was that the fan was quite loud, which was a little annoying but playing some music will drown the sound out. However, if your making a make-up video the loud fan sound might put a few people off.
When asked would she use the AirLit again she said 100% yes as the benefits outweigh the negatives and it helped with the application of the make-up and even sped up the process.
Verdict
The AirLit smart fan is a multifunctional device ideal if you are working from home and need to cool down or use it to apply your make-up in the evening. The adjustable length, fan speed and light colour are perfect for making the perfect makeup tutorial vlog as we all have different skin tones and the fact you can adjust the colour of the light helps with the make-up application.
The phone holder is a useful addition when recording them vlogs and the fact you can also charge your phone via the USB-A port at the rear of the device adds to the usefulness of the device.
So if you’re looking for the perfect accessory for the makeup vlogger or a tool to aid the professional makeup artist. This device is well worth the investment.
