Apple has taken the wraps off the latest round of iPhone, releasing details of the iPhone 12 iPhone 12 Mini, iPhone 12 Pro and the iPhone 12 Pro MAX.
In a hotly anticipated move, all three devices come with 5G as standard, capable of 4Gbps speeds in ideal conditions, 1Gbps speeds in typical conditions as well as a smart data mode that will only use 5G signals for applications that demand it.
Aside from new network signals, each device contains a new Super retina XDR display capably of a 2,000,000:1 contrast ratio and features a sharper design reminiscent of the iPhone 5 series.
Inside each device is the A14 Bionic chipset built on 5 nanometre technology consisting of 6 CPU cores and 4 GPU cores, a neural engine consisting of 16 cores capable of 11trillion operations per second.
On the outside, the iPhone 12 and 12 mini features two 12MP cameras, one wide with a 1.8 aperture and the other ultra wide with a 120 degree field of view. On the Pro devices there is a 12mp ultra wide sensor with an 120 degree field of view, 12 MP 1.7 aperture wide sensor and a 12MP 52 mm telephoto lens.
Dark mode comes to all cameras in the iPhone 12 series, including the selfie camera and the iPhone ProMax was chosen as the only device in the 12 series to come with a LiDAR sensor improving focus in low light conditions as well as providing opportunities for the use of AR.
Prices start from $699 for the iPhone 12 Mini and $799 for the standard iPhone 12 with the iPhone 12Pro and Pro Max starting at $999 and $1,099 respectively.
