True Wireless Stereo (TWS) is pretty much everywhere these days. Most people will know these as Ear Buds, we are checking out the Edifier TWS1 Pro’s here.
Roll back a few years, and TWS earbuds were very much unknown, until the big players started bringing them into their product ranges (cough Apple cough).
Since then, you literally have an endless number of brands offering up a crazy range at a price range that will make you wonder what on earth the differences are.
In this review, we have been given the opportunity to check out the Edifier TWS1 Pro.
Who is Edifier?
Edifier are very well known across the Audio industry, with now over 20 years’ experience in producing premium level solutions across both speakers and headphones. Their products can now be found in over 70 countries across the globe, with a team of award-winning designers that have a genuine passion for sound.
Unboxing the TWS1 Pro
As expected, the unboxing experience was very good, especially at a price point of £49.99. I can only describe the packaging as a scaled down version of a watch or jewellery box, which is no bad thing.
Don’t get me wrong, you can tell these are only £49.99 but for the money, I was impressed. You get a decent case which doubles up as the charger just like most TWS earbuds on the market which encase the earbuds nicely and keeps them charged whislt not in use.
You also get two extra sized earbuds and a charging cable, along with the usual manual/quick start guides.
Design of the TWS1 Pro
Now, let’s be honest, everyone once frowned upon having a micro set of tusks hanging your ear (yes, I was one). I am certainly not an “In-Ear” headphones fan to be honest, I can never find a set that “fits” or looks good…which to me is important.
What I do like about these is the fact they do actually look like buds, and don’t have the micro tusks! This is a big deal for me, I instantly thought, ok, I can deal with these.
They are also subtle in colour, a nice matte dark grey which doesn’t attract attention, which again for me is ideal.

Connecting the TWS1 Pro
Now, if you’re like me and like to steer away from reading the quick start guides, then have no fear. These earbuds were really simple to setup, straight out of the box and into pairing mode, connected to my phone within a matter of minutes.
Bang for your buck?
Absolutely, especially if you have a device with the Snapdragon 855 processor, this opens up ultimate performance for such a great price point.
With Bluetooth V5.2 and IP65 rating, which gives these earbuds the ability to consume less power, allows for a more stable connection and prevents them getting damaged when exposed to a decent level of water and dust? Seriously, what’s not to love.
The Edifier TWS1 Pro – In Use
So, I have been using these earbuds for a couple of weeks now, as my daily WFH earbuds and also on my walks (yes, I do get out). The functionalities of the earbuds are really straightforward, with single touch, double taps and press and hold…the usual.
Accepting and declining calls (never decline…not me) is simple. Single tap of the left or right earbud to accept calls and press and hold to decline or end a call.
Whilst listening to Spotify (other music streaming services are available), again, simple commands like single tap to play/pause and double taps to skip (left for previous track and right for next track)
For volume, you press and hold the left earbud to turn down, and right to turn up.
Seriously…I still to this point haven’t looked at the manual (honest)!
For the Audio nerds out there
- The frequency response on the TWS1 Pro: 20Hz – 20KHz
- Sensitivity: 95±3dB
- Impedance:16Ω
What does this mean? Well to be honest, if you’re looking for a decent set of earbuds a a great value price point, these will do the job. Seriously, for me, I used them mainly for taking calls and having some music on during work and whilst out on a walk and they were spot on.
For some like me, who prefers over-ear headphones, they really did do the job.
Final Thoughts
If you’re looking for music orientated earbuds, that give you an amazing soundstage audiophile level experience, then these are not for you…spend more and get yourself much better-quality headphones geared towards that.
If you are in the market for a set of earbuds that are great for calls and some easy listening sound for music, great features and functions then the Edifiers are definitely worth adding to your shortlist.
It really doesn’t need to be more complicated than that, trust me…I don’t like complicated.
