With Christmas just around the corner, you might be looking for gifts for the gamer in the family or you might want to improve your own gaming experience. In this review, we cover the FIFINE Ampligame A20 gaming speakers that are available for £49 via Amazon.
First Impressions
The FIFINE Ampligame A20 gaming speakers are a stand-out pair of desktop speakers that boast dynamic drivers that help you to be completely immersed in your gaming or use them to listen to some music or even watch a film. When gaming you can hear every detail from the pinprick precision of enemy footsteps when playing something like Call Of Duty. The cinematic audio makes you feel part of the action and allows you to react faster with immersive audio taking your gaming experience up a notch.
In addition to the sound quality, the FIFINE Ampligame A20 comes with RGB lighting and allows you to select from 6 dynamic modes and 7 different colours to add to your gaming experience. You can use a pulsing light show or a cool static glow allowing you to match your mood and the game you’re playing.
Unboxing
When I ordered the FIFINE Ampligame A20 gaming speakers from Amazon. I was surprised that the packaging felt a little basic I feel like there could be more done as if these were displayed in a shop I might just walk past them.
Open the packaging and I was happy to see a good amount of padding in the box that provided me with confidence that they were not damaged in the delivery process.
Inside the packaging, FIFINE keeps it simple and provides you with the following:
- 1x Pair of A20 Speakers
- 1x User Guide
- 1x 3.5mm AUX cable and USB Cable permanently attached (Both cables measure 180cm and have an additional 150cm linking them together.
Design
The A20 gaming speakers won’t take up much room on your desk they measure 12.3 x 8.3 x 9.5cm and are also a solid-feeling pair of speakers that do not weigh much at only 424g. They also come with permanently attached 3.5mm AUX cable and USB cables that you need to ensure both are used to hear the audio. You will also notice the cable running between speakers is about 5ft long and the cable from the right speaker to the computer is 6ft allowing you to get a good set-up.
The body & front metal meshes are a flat, satin-like black colour that makes these elegant to look at. There is also an RGB LED strip running down the front of each speaker and just under each speaker you have some controls:
- Right Speaker- Volume Controls
- Left Speaker- Power Button
On the right speaker, there is touch touch-sensitive button positioned on the top of the speaker (Sun symbol) this is used to customize the RGB lighting.
A long press for about 3 seconds powers the RGB LEDs on/off and short pressing switches between the 7 different lighting modes. You will also notice the 7th mode is where it cycles through 7 static colour modes. So, to get back to mode 1 you need to press the button 12 times!
When testing the touch sensitivity, I did find it to be a little unresponsive sometimes it works perfectly but other times you need to press a couple of times to register a touch. When you do get the touch sensitivity to work and have selected your lighting mode there is a memory function built-in so when you switch the speakers off via the power button and then switch them back on later it will still remember the last selected mode.
Audio Quality
When considering buying any pair of speakers gaming or not the most important factor is how they sound. I have been testing these for a couple of weeks now and I was impressed considering the price point. The highs, mids and lows are all nice and clear and the lows offer a punchy base. I used these in my home office which is not a very big room, and they performed very well and even at high volume, they did not distort. Also, when gaming there is no noticeable lag between sound and the speaker picking up on it.
You can also use these speakers for just playing music or watching a film and I found they still provided a precise sound while the RGB lighting added to the mood whilst watching a film. You can even lay these speakers horizontally if you struggle for space on your desk and they still perform very well when it comes to audio quality.
Verdict
If you are a gamer looking for an upgrade from your laptop speakers as well as a significant upgrade the FIFINE Ampligame A20 gaming speakers are a great option. They deliver detailed audio that keeps you immersed in the game and the RGB lighting adds an extra touch for your gaming setup.
The lack of deep bass might be an issue for some but considering the price point I did not feel that this would be a massive red flag for most gamers. I really like the fact you can even use these speakers in a horizontal placement which if you only have a small amount of desk space these are a great find.
Overall, the A20 gaming speakers are a strong option for a young gamer or someone who wants to up their gaming setup but is on a budget and get that immersive audio experience. So, if you’re looking for a detailed-sounding speaker with customizable RGB lighting for under £100 these make our Christmas Gift Guide.
