If this year of uncertainty has taught us anything it’s keeping a budget will be the best thing to survive any unexpected issues like furlough or illness so how can you make sure you cover all situations as well as saving for any special occasions like a Wedding or a Holiday.
Introducing HyperJar this is a new budgeting app designed to help the user plan your savings and also make sure you have the money for all the regular payments you make.
HyperJar creates lots of little money pots on the go so you know you have money for all the regular direct debits and also saving for special events or goals. The HyperJar app also provides the ability to create jars with family or friends and lock in the money to spend at a certain retailer. I found this very useful as it helped me and my fiancee save for our wedding next year. You also get an accompanying Mastercard which helps when you are ready to get spending.
Who can have a HyperJar Account?
As long as you are over 18 anyone can open an account and all you need to do is download the app from the App Store or Google Play Store. If your someone who has poor credit you can still use Hyperjar as it does not run any checks apart from a basic ID check. Once signed up your Mastercard will arrive a few days later in the post. Also, note you will not have any monthly fees connected to having a HyerJar account.
Main Features
Once the App is set up you will need to link your main bank account as this will be your method of transferring money to the various jars for saving.
The main features of using HyerJat include:
Jars – Set aside money for that special occasion. You can also share a Jar with a family member or group of friends if you wanted to all save for a holiday when we can do that again. You can invite a max of 100 people to a Jar so ideal for a Stag or Hen Party pot.
Retailer Related Money Program – You can lock in a jar to spend at a selected retailer and that is known as H Money. You can then earn up to 4.8% annual Growth until you spend it. Here an example of some of the brands you can save with.
Free Spending Overseas– When on holiday if you have used a Jar for your savings you can make card payments and that would provide the best currency conversion without and charges or fees.
HyperJar Kids Card-If you’re looking to give your child that extra level of responsibly you can create a Jar that your kids can spend via the card they will be given. This allows you to educate them for the future so they understand the value of money.
Overall Would I Download HyperJar?
The HyperJar is a great saving/budgeting app but it’s not perfect as you will need to select which Jar you’re paying from before using the Mastercard which could confuse some users. Apart from that if your able to get over that issue this app is the perfect rainy day fund it allows you to say for different occasions like a wedding or Christmas presents. I like the fact you can share your saving Jars with others so you can monitor everyone is saving towards the main goal you have set.
The H Money Programme is also a very good programme that lets you lock your savings away to spend at selected retailers and lets your money grow until your ready to spend. I do have a slight concern with some high street retailers like Debenhams in trouble I would worry my money might not be safe. However, If this did happen HyperJar would return your money to your main account.
So if your looking for a new way to budget maybe your moving into a new home or you want to save for a special occasion HyperJar provides you with that option and the fact you can save with up to 100 friends this is going to be perfect for my up and coming Stag weekend next year. So if you want to make your cash last longer and save for that rainy day hyperJar is a great option and its free to download so what’s stopping you.
