We have all been there it’s 9 am and you start work with a nice hot cup of tea or coffee and then you get hit with a ton of emails and phone calls. Then when you get a chance to drink your hot drink it has gone cold. How annoying!

In this review, we got sent the solution to that problem the ikago Heat Coaster Pro. You only knew you needed this device once you have one. It’s ideal for when working long hours and you want to keep your drink hot for example you are on a long conference call.

The ikago Heat Coaster Pro is currently available for £53 via Amazon so let’s take a more detailed look.

First Impressions/ Design

The ikago Heat Coaster Pro is an electric heating pad that plugs into the mains and warms up your drink.  Inside the packaging, you are provided with the Heat Coaster Pro, ikago coffee mug, lid and spoon. You are also provided with a handy user guide.

The Heat Coaster Pro has a power button located at the side and the main unit located at the front this consists of the display panel with thermostat buttons above the display panel.

If you look behind the display panel you will see the IR receiver and at the other side of the unit is the IR emitter with the heating area in the middle and last but not least is the power cord at the back.

When you power the Heat Coaster Pro the display unit provides you with all the information you need. At the top, it shows the real-time temperature and under that, you have the set temperature which can be adjusted to your liking. The highest temperature you can warm your drink is 175 F however the default temperature is 150F.

You may also notice the ikago adopts a high-quality die-cast aluminium heat conduction plate. This provides the best heat conduction efficiency and will prevent it from breaking easily. The edge of the heating plate is designed with a waterproof silica gel ring and the water guide structure is set inside the prevent electric shock.

How do you use it?

You place the provided ceramic mug on top of the Coaster Pro and it keeps your drink at a constant temperature using the infrared emitter. So basically as long as your mug is placed on the Coaster Pro and the lid is placed on the cup and it’s powered your drink stays hot.

You need to first press the power button positioned at the side of the Coaster Pro. This device will only work when the mug is placed in the heating area. To adjust the temperature you will see the Plus & Minus buttons above the display panel. You will have a bit of trial and error before you know the right temperature for your liking. Once you have selected the right temperature the Heat Coaster Pro will remember the last temperature.

There is also a handy traffic light system within the display panel the status bar will be blue if cooler than the set temperature, green when it’s perfect to drink and red when it’s hotter than the set temperature.

Verdict

If you are that person who makes a hot drink and is busy at work it always goes cold this is the perfect gadget for you. I found the device does offer longevity and it’s very easy to use. It won’t take long to get the right temperature and is very useful for anyone working from home or even for those in the office as the device will even warm your drink up if you use a different cup just make sure it is ceramic.

As long as you have made the drink hot in the first place the ikago Heat Coaster Pro will warm up the drink if required but more importantly when you get to that desired temperature using infrared it will keep the drink at that temperature preventing your drink ever getting cold.

What makes this device stand out is that intelligent constant temperature so no matter how much tea/coffee you have left in the cup the ikago can intelligently regulate the temperature and will also display that temperature.
