Majority Audio who you will know if you follow our reviews is a brand more known for there award winning budget-friendly soundbars such as the Majority Bowfell Plus 2.1, Majority Everest 5.1 and Majority Snowdon II. The brand has this year been expanding its portfolio with products such as DX20 desktop speakers, Superstar Kids headphones and Majority Homerton 2.
So it will be no surprise to tell you they launched some true wireless earbuds in the shape of the Majority Tru 2 ANC and what we are going to cover in this review is the Majority Tru Bio earbuds with a budget-friendly price tag of £34.95.
First Impressions
Majority Audio are a brand like House of Marley which really focus on sustainability and as the name might provide a clue Majority Tri Bio are biodegradable. What this means is 100% of the product if it was to land on a landfill the earbuds, drivers and charging case are made using compostable plastic. This limits the carbon footprint providing them to be environmentally friendly.
The Tru Bio earbuds come in three colours – White, Pink & Blue.
The Key features of these earbuds include Bluetooth 5.3, Fast charging, 100% Certified Compostable Plastic Parts and a lightweight build.
Unboxing
As you might expect with Majority Audio the packaging is fully recyclable they have removed the need for any plastic. They have also removed that instruction guide and if you needed it you have a QR code to view the instructions instead. This also cuts down the need to cut trees down something this brand is dead against.
When you have removed everything from the box you get provided the pair of earbuds with a charging case, 3 pairs of silicone eartips and a USB-C cable to put these on charge when needed.
Design
The design of the Tru Bio earbuds has been kept very simple you have a pebble-shaped charging case. The Majority logo is positioned on the top of the case the lid of the case provides a solid seal when closed.
The case also has 4x LEDs on the front to provide an indication of battery life in the case. What you will find is the case will provide 3 additional full charges on top of the 7.5 hours provided in the buds alone. This gives you a total of 30 hours of playtime which is better than some buds I have reviewed at 3 times the price.
In terms of the charging case, the 4 LED lights provide an indication of the battery life below is what each light means:

Moving to the buds they have a similar shape to the Jabra Elite 5 you have an elegant circular-shaped outer surface that is where the multi-function button is positioned. I found the shape of the buds offered that ergonomic shape for the inner part of the buds that really did provide additional comfort in your ears.
The Buds also come with 13mm Bio Cellulose Speaker Drivers and also come with built-in microphones ideal for when making and receiving calls but you will notice these buds do not come with smart assistant or ANC hardly surprising considering the cost. However, they do offer a decent amount of passive noise cancellation due to the fit of the buds.
Last but not least you will notice the buds come with pogo pins that when placed in the case will be nice and secure when not in use and even survived the trusty shake test.
You will also notice when using these buds just how lightweight they are in your ears you will forget they are in your ears and at 4.5g per bud it’s easy to see why.
In terms of connectivity the buds operate on the latest Bluetooth 5.3 with a range of 10 meters this is great if you want to move around the house or the office and not have your phone on your person constantly. Unfortunately, when I took these around London Liverpool St station we did have the odd connection issue in which the buds lost signal even if it was for just a few seconds however it’s not a deal breaker as the list of buds I have reviewed that have done just that is a massive list.
Overall the design might be simple but it’s effective and being able to simply take the buds out and connect to Bluetooth the first time than any time after simply just remove the buds and play this will please the majority of users here!
Functionality
Majority keep things simple here with the multi-function button and the fact you can receive and make calls using these buds. The multi-function button when pressed was very responsive in terms of controls they allow you to answer/reject a call. Play/Pause, Track control & volume. Here is a little chart to get you started:

Audio Quality
The Majority Tru Bio does provide a decent level of sound thanks to the inclusion of 13mm bio-cellulose drivers and that passive noise cancellation provides a wide range of sound frequencies.
I have been listening to a wide range of music including the song new song by Emeli Sande & Nile Rodgers – “When Someone Loves You”. I found the vocals were crystal clear and this was paired with a bass that was set just right without feeling too punchy. The mids and highs are crisp and clear making the trick even better to listen to. You will notice you are unable to adjust the EQ so if you don’t like the preset you are unable to do anything about it. It’s not only music they perform well for when listening to podcasts I found the vocals to be nice and loud and without any distorted sound which is a big bonus.
The buds also allow for voice calls and we found the inclusion of the built-in mics provides high-quality calls meaning you can be heard loud and clear and the person you are speaking to is also heard without any trouble.
Finally, the buds also come with a good level of passive noise cancellation that will naturally block out some external noises offering a more immersive experience when listening to music on your travels.
Verdict
The Majority Tru Bio earbuds are perfect for someone who wants a budget-friendly pair of buds but also would like to consider the planet. The fact these buds are £34 and biodegradable ticks both boxes.
I was pleased that Majority has kept things simple in terms of the design and also the very responsive multifunction button it allowed me to use these with ease. Battery wise offering 7.5 hours in the buds with a total of 30 hours will also keep you entertained for long periods of time is also a big plus.
Last but not least the audio quality considering the price provides a crystal clear sound paired with just the right amount of bass. I also found the quality of the sound when listening to podcasts loud and clear without any issues at all.
So overall, if your looking for a budget-friendly pair of buds after that big spend at Christmas the Majority Tru Bio ticks all the boxes you want them to. I was also pleased they come in 3 colours and what is very pleasing is the 3-year warranty so if something went wrong you are covered.
