Our latest Mobile review is the Oppo Find X3 Pro is an amazing piece of mobile phone technology. This phone does not only look great and come with a display, an amazing camera and also comes with fast charging to really put this phone above many others in the market. However, there is a big but! It’s at the top of most peoples budget at £1099 which is very expensive for a phone for some potential buyers. We did find an Amazon renewed offer for £699 so it’s worth shopping around.
First Impressions
As you may have guessed the Find X3 Pro is the most premium device in the Oppo family in 2021. This phone has been designed to go toe to toe with the likes of Samsung most premium of devices such as the Galaxy S21 Ultra.
The Oppo Find X3 Pro was also launched at the same time as the Oppo Find X3 Neo 5G & Find X3 Lite 5G. As mentioned it does come with an eye-watering price tag but if you can look past this aspect the only real downfall is the lack of a periscope zoom camera but it’s only a small negative and one I personally can look past.
Also taking about the camera set up the main and ultra-wide lens are bespoke sony sensors that bigger than your average sensor and there are also microlenses that can take super closer up pictures. More on the camera set up later in this review.
Overall first impressions are this phone looks great and comes with decent battery life and comes with lots of storage. So let’s take a closer look.
Design
The Oppo Find X3 Pro is large enough that you will notice it in your hands it measures 163.6 x 74.0 x 8.26mm but is still quite a thin phone. It weighs 193g which is not that heavy and the phone also comes with IP68 rating meaning water or dust won’t hurt this phone. The phone also comes in two colours:
- Black
- Blue
In terms of the build on the rear, it has a glass back with the camera bump in the top-left corner.
Moving to the sides of this phone. on the right is the power button and the volume controls are on the left side of the phone.
Finally, the base of the phone simply has the USB-C port and that is so if you were hoping for a 3.5mm headphone jack you will be disappointed.
Moving to the front of the Find X3 Pro the screen curves at the edges but does not extend all the way down the sides so if you were looking for that waterfall edge design look elsewhere. The bonus of having a design like this you are less likely to damage the screen if dropped.
Display
This device comes with a 6.7 inch AMOLED screen with 3216 x 1440 resolution and 1300 mits max brightness. The phone also uses a Full-Path colour management system which ensures the videos or photos you capture don’t get any nasty artefacts. Overall the display looks really good with great contrast and punchy colours.
The device also comes with a 120Hz refresh rate but you can adjust the phone to use the 60Hz option or a variable refresh rate. The benefit of the variable rate is it switches for things that don’t need the full 120Hz setting and this also saves battery life which is a real benefit for any device.
There is also an in-display fingerprint scanner built on this phone and in testing, we found it to be very quick and the reaction was very fast, in fact, I barely scanned my finger and the phone started.
Performance/ Under the Bonet
Just like the Oppo Find X3 Neo & Find X3 Lite the Find X3 Pro uses that Snapdragon 888 chipset which is currently the best available for a device like this. The benefit of using the chipset is the battery optimization and faster performance speeds compared to its rivals.
This opinion was proven when we did the benchmark tests with the Geekbench 5 test offering results such as a multi-core score of 3527 which is good but it’s not the fastest on the market the Xiaomi Mi 11 came in at 3569 but in terms of performance most users won’t know the difference.
Inside this phone along with the Snapdragon 888 chipset you also get 256GB of storage as well as 12GB of RAM but if you need extra storage you won’t get the change of microSD card. You can always consider cloud storage if you need it.
The Find X3 Pro does come with Dolby stereo loudspeakers which perform very well when watching films on Netflix or playing mobile games.
Software
Oppo continues to use its own operating system as well as Andriod 10. The Oppo Operating system is known as ColorOS and this sits alongside the normal Android overlay that comes with all the normal Google apps that make up the Android operating system.
The ColorOS offers bold colours and the apps are rounded and offers a number of customization options so you can really make this your own. Such as advanced menu layout, various ways to change how apps icons look and doing so really makes your phone unique.
Battery Life
Many of us all have the same wish: I wish my phone battery lasted longer?
The Find X3 Pro comes with a 4,500mAh battery and in testing, we were not disappointed. When using this phone regularly with medium use we found it lasted the day with ease you could even push it to 1 and half days, However, as you might expect if you use the phone for lots of gaming or creating vlogs the battery life will still give you a solid 12 hours.
When it’s time to charge the Find X3 Pro comes with fast charging courtesy of its 65W speed and that is some of the fastest we have seen on the market. A full charge will take just over 40 minutes to complete. It also comes with a smart charging mode so when fully charged it will stop any damage to the phone battery due to overcharging.

Verdict
The Oppo Find X3 Pro is an excellent phone that looks good and it’s great to use the ColorOS operating system if you like customising every detail on your phone it’s a great choice to pick.
This phone also comes with an excellent display that is also assisted with a full-path colour management system to provide a top-tier device for those who loves colour accuracy.
This phone also has an excellent camera but it’s not perfect as it is missing a periscope zoom so if you are looking for a phone that can offer 10x hybrid zoom consider something like the Oppo Find X2 Pro which will also save you money as well. If you can look past the lack of zoom this is an excellent phone for those with a passion for photography.
Unfortunately, I feel the biggest issue with this phone is that the eye-watering price point at £1099 is a cost that will put lots of people off. If your looking for a top-spec phone and budget is not an issue it’s worth considering otherwise the other devices in the Find X3 range are more budget-friendly.
