I recently purchased a Nintendo Switch as friends, and I have been having regular game nights. The Switch brings friends together to play a variety of games one such game is Switch Sports. One such game on switch sports is tennis and swinging your joy-con is all well and good but why not turn it into a proper tennis racket and bring out that inner Wimbledon tennis star inside?
In this review, we have been sent a set of the Joy-Con light-up tennis rackets designed for Nintendo Switch and in particular Switch Sports. They are currently available for £12 for a pack of 2 rackets as you are provided with a left and right joy-con racket.
The tennis rackets are made of plastic and come in a black finish with gloss accents and come with safety straps for added security as no one wants a joy-con flying at speed towards your TV.
The racket itself comes with 2 light-up battery-powered tennis rackets that use 2x AAA batteries (Not Included). Set up is easy just slide your joy-con controller into the tennis racket and bingo you’re ready to go. Inside the space of the joy-con are rubber pads that offer protection.
Turn the lights off and the rackets have 7 LED lighting effects:
- Red
- Green
- Blue
- Purple
- Pink
- Yellow
You can also select a rainbow pattern on the LED lights.
The rackets are simple in design but offer a fun gaming experience for all the family. At only £12.99 for a pack of 2, they are well worth the investment. The only thing to consider is they are only recommended to use with Nintendo Switch Sports as they might not work with Mario Tennis.
