We have reviewed several devices from Majority Audio and recently noticed they have a sister brand that produces Wi-Fi Picture frames. After we reviewed the Aura Carver digital photo frame a few years back that we still have in our living room I have to try this CLICKid Snap 10.

First Impressions

The CLICKid Snap 10 is also known as the Frameo Wi-Fi picture frame mainly because Frameo is the app that allows you to send images from your phone directly to the photo frame.

The CLICKid Snap 10 is very easy to set up and can hold up to 20,000 images due to the 32GB storage. This frame is perfect for gifting to a family member who might not be able to visit as much but still wants to see your family growing up. The only slight negative about this frame is that it’s powered via a power cable, so you need to consider where you position the frame.

The key features of this frame include:

  • Remote photo sharing via companion mobile app
  • 10.1-inch HD display
  • 20,000 image capacity
  • LCD Touchscreen with remote control provided.
  • Motion Sensor, Standby & Auto-Rotate
  • Supports importing images from SD card & USB

Why buy a Wi-Fi picture frame?

My wife takes a lot of photos as she loves capturing memories and before we owned a digital frame, we had lots of photo albums that might not ever get looked at. Having a photo frame allows you to display multiple images to create an album that can be viewed anytime.

The CLICKid Snap 10 offers a plug-and-play experience requiring very little setup. The frame also comes with the Frameo mobile app that allows you to dispatch photos to the frame with ease.

Some family members might question how secure this frame & app is. Well, thankfully the developers have created a secure method of sending images to the frame across the internet.  You require the use of the Frameo mobile app and a unique 10-digit code. The benefit of this process is that the correct picture frame is the recipient of the images sent.

Design

The CLICKid snap 10 has a 10.1-inch touch screen surrounded by a black bezel and measures in at 35.4 x 21.6 x 5.7 centimetres (LxWxH) and weighs 0.97 kilograms. At first glance, it looks like a normal picture frame.

Images are displayed on a 1280 x 800 IPS HD display that is run using a quad-core Cortex TM-A7 CPU with 1GB of RAM. You will find 32GB of storage built-in to the device allowing for a considerable number of images to be stored. You can also use the microSD card slot allowing an extra 64GB located at the rear that also comes with a USB mains adapter & kickstand.

The power button is located on the rear of the device while the stand can also be pushed into position on the rear, but you are also able to mount to a wall if you wish.

Set up of the CLICKid snap 10

As mentioned, there is no battery in the frame so to power up this digital photo frame you need to plug into a power source. When you first power up this frame it takes a few minutes to load   You are then warned not to disconnect the power before commencing with the setup.

You will then be welcomed with a screen to select your language and then you have to select your Wi-Fi router and enter the router password.

There is an option to restore a backup if required but we used it like it was our first time. The frame requires a Wi-Fi network connection and also gives you the chance to change language and time zone. Once complete it will ask you to name your frame.

Next up is getting to choose who can send photos to the device. This employs a code generation system that you can share with your family so they can also send images. I gave this gift to my parents who are not very knowledgeable with technology so you might want to set this up beforehand.

You simply tap Add Friend to display the code, then press the matching icon in the mobile app and enter the code it’s so easy to do.  Once you’re paired, use the app to find a photo to share and tap the red arrow to send it. You can even adjust the subject of the image, so it remains in the centre of the image in either portrait or landscape modes. Once the image has been sent the frame will play a chime to indicate when it’s been received and will then automatically display the image.

You can also send small video clips, but they are limited to 15 seconds and do take longer to send video to the frame.

Managing photos on the frame

The best way to send photos to the frame is to do it remotely. As long as the device is connected to Wi-Fi and it works pretty seamlessly. Other options for uploading images include inserting a USB stick or SD card holding images which will prompt a “looking for external storage” message to be displayed.

A useful feature is you can add a caption to any picture

The import photos option then opens a menu. It’s also available by tapping the screen, opening settings, then manage photos then pressing import photos.  I found the manual sharing of photos using either the SD card or USB to be a little sluggish. Sending photos across Wi-Fi using the app is much more efficient.

When photos are displayed, they can be swiped through either left to right or right to left.  Beyond that, you can also adjust the following settings:

  • Brightness
  • Sleep Mode
  • Slideshow settings
  • Photo order & timer for each photo from 1 second to 24 hours being the maximum.

Verdict

The CLICKid Snap 10 is the perfect device for those who want to view memories easily. There are a few negatives to start with the version of Android this frame uses an older version but does not make too much of a difference.

Sending over images works perfectly but sending videos is slower and doesn’t play instantly. Some could say the lack of battery is also an issue but if it’s positioned close to a plug socket it should not provide too much of an issue.  Do consider it only comes with a 1.5-meter power cable, so you need to be clever about positioning.

CLICKid Snap 10 Wi-Fi Picture Frame Review

The frame can be used in either Portrait or Landscape mode

Overall, the display works well and swiping through the images is easy to do and it connects to your wireless networks and links to the mobile app is a great feature. The frame is suitable for all ages and using the provided kickstand allows you to place it on a shelf or cabinet. The kickstand also allows you to use either portrait or horizontal modes and I like the fact the frame will automatically rotate the image when required.

The perfect gift for sharing memories with family & Friends.
