The true wireless market is packed with brands offering you everything from hearing tests to ANC. What if you just want a simple pair that just plays music, looks nice and is not too expensive? In this review, we are covering the Tozo T6 which is priced at £25.49 which is firmly in the budget end of the market.
First Impressions/Design
The TOZO T6 come with a round ear tip on a rounded earbud and comes with six different ear tip sizes so getting a secure fit should be easy to do. The T6 comes in 6 colours:
- Black
- White
- Blue
- Champagne
- Green
- Rose Gold
- White
The ear tips do have a different feel whereas the ones with the red in the centre feel a bit stiffer and thicker while all black ones are thinner. The shape of some of the black options makes them look wider then than they would fit in your ear. You are provided with 2x eartips measuring 10mm and 2x measuring 11mm, but each will fit differently inside your ear.
The problem with these buds is they do not have vents to alleviate pressure from the ear tips sealing, so you have to adjust the earbuds a bit to get rid of the pressure. Another issue when it comes to these buds is whenever I connect them to any device the volume turns all the way up. So, I recommend checking your volume level before playing anything to avoid getting a nasty shock in your ears.
Moving to the charging case it is fairly compact fits easily into your pocket and comes with a secure lid that survived the shake test.
Inside the charging case are magnets to hold the buds into the case and keep them secure. On the front of the charging case, you have 4 LEDs to indicate battery life and at the base of the charging case is the USB-C charge port. Finally, both the buds and charging case are IPX8-rated meaning they could in theory be submerged in one meter of water for 30 minutes.
Controls
The TOZO T6 come with touch controls for playback and call controls. You can not adjust the controls, so you are stuck with the default controls due to the lack of an app. That said I did not find them any issues with the controls and below is a list of controls.
You will notice many wireless earbuds come with touch controls and the implementation here works perfectly. For example, a single tap on either earbud will play/pause your music. Double tapping on the left or right will allow you to skip tracks. Finally, a triple tap will enable you to use your phone’s smart assistant. I was impressed that the Tozo T6 came with the ability for voice assistant considering the price point.
Isolation
Now as mentioned the Tozo T6 does not come with ANC but what it does come with is a good level of isolation and this is down to the build and eartips provided. I found the T6 performed quite well at blocking out some of the unwanted noise around me. I still heard next door doing some DIY but the overall sound was reduced with these buds in my ears.
It’s nothing like having ANC but considering the price point I do not see how you can complain. What I would say is you do need to make sure you have the right size tips in your ears and you’re in luck as Tozo provides you with several different size tips so you should find the right fit.
Connectivity
The TOZO T6 are connected using Bluetooth 5.3 and connects using SBC & AAC codecs which are ideal for Hi-Res audio steaming sites. The downside is these buds do not offer special features such as Bluetooth multipoint or quick pairing but considering the cost am not surprised.
Battery Life
The Tozo T6 comes with various claims when it comes to battery life depending on where you’re looking but in testing these out I found 8 hours when the volume was at 50% for the duration.
When it comes to recharging them the charging case comes with a microUSB charging port or surprisingly can be charged using a wireless Qi charging pad. If you use the microUSB cable it will take 55 minutes or this increases to just over 2 hours depending on the wireless charging pad. In this review, I used the STM Goods ChargeTreeMag to charge the Tozo T6 and it worked perfectly.

Audio Quality
Audio quality in any pair of true wireless earbuds is one of the most important aspects to consider. When it comes to the Tozo T6 they lean towards the bass-heavy end of the spectrum. However, it was not over the top even when the volume was over the 80% mark they remained composed yet aggressive.
I have tested these now for the last few weeks and they provide an excellent balance in displaying smooth highs and mids combined with that elevated bass. Using them to play games, listen to music or watch a film sounds good. However, if you’re looking for obsessive detail these are not for you. If that is you then you need to spend over the £100 mark to see this kind of result.
Let’s take a deeper look at how they sound. Well the T6 model comes with that deep bass and this is due to the bass frequency being below 200Hz which if you are a fan of deep bass the Tozo T6 will appeal.
We have listened to a wide range of music when testing these and when we played “Alice Merton – No Roots” I was impressed with the overall sound. The oscillating synthesizer in the mids makes these sounds great behind the drums and vocals. The only thing I would say is the bass synth is a little too loud through this pair of buds.
Listen to something more rock-based like anything from Blink-182 and they sound pleasant the bass can be on the loud side especially due to the bass boost from the earbuds. You will notice the vocals, drums and guitar in the song sounds great without any real notable issues.
How do they sound when used for phone calls?
The built-in microphone on the T6 is decent for phone calls in my home office which is a quiet environment. The vocals sound clear and audible through the microphone in ideal conditions. However, that quality takes a bit of a hit when using them on a call down a busy street or in windy conditions. That said I was audible most of the time and the best place to use these for calls was my home office 100%.
Tozo App
As this is not the first time, we have reviewed a pair of earbuds from Tozo as we have reviewed the Tozo Golden X1 last year. Something that came as a surprise with the Tozo T6 is they are compatible with the Tozo app which since we last used it has improved massively.
The app is available on either iOS or Android and appearance when you first open the app is how polished it has become. Tozo asks you to create a profile first like what I have done below with basic information asked. The next step is to make sure your buds are connected to Bluetooth via the normal method you connect buds on your phone. Then the app asks you to add a device and will pick up the Tozo T6. Then you reach the home page which indicates you are connected and displays the battery life in each bud. It also displays your current EQ and a button with “More Sound Effects”. If you click on this button it will take you into the EQ Zone.
As you can see on this page there are 16 different EQ modes for you to select such as:

- Treble +
- Bass +
- Classica
- Deep
- Jazz
- Piano
- R&B
- Vocal
- Treble –
There is also an option to create a custom EQ and the app allows you to save it so it appears on the list of EQ options. Below are some examples of the EQ options you are provided, and you will notice a difference in the sound when trying out the various options.
Now something I found interesting within the EQ Zone is something called “Recommended EQ” These are custom EQ settings over users have created and with some they even explain why the EQ was created and the benefit you get by selecting it. I thought this was a really interesting addition to the app.
Coming back to the home page you will notice a settings icon above the image of the buds. If you click here you can customize the touch controls and update the firmware. The home page also has 5 options:

- Community
- Explore
- MyTozo
As you might expect by pressing products you are taken to what is effectively the Tozo shop. Next is the community button this is where setting up a profile comes in useful. This is a section of the app where you can interact with other customers of Tozo around the world I found this to be a unique offering I could see some people enjoying.
Finally, is the Explore button and this comes with many pre-loaded tracks from soothing to relaxing to hypnotic perfect if you struggle to unwind or need a track to go to sleep. There is even a timer you can set so if you did fall asleep the music would not continue after the timer finished.
My wife found the nature sounds to be helpful when she gave birth to our son last year so it’s nice to see they have kept the core of the app and have improved on it. When you consider the cost of the earbuds the app is a fantastic feature to have.
Verdict
The Tozo T6 are a good option to consider if you are looking for a cheap pair of true wireless earbuds and you love a bassy sound profile. I am a little concerned about the issue that these earbuds immediately max out the volume when reconnecting to your device. It’s an issue that needs sorting! As it could damage your ears.
Considering the price of just £25, you’re getting a pair of basic buds without ANC. You are getting a comfortable set of earbuds with a range of eartips to allow a good fit and that important isolation. You are also provided decent battery life, the ability to use your phone smart assistant, and IPX8 water resistance.
For someone with a limited budget, these are worth considering.
