First Impressions
The HiRise 3 is a 3-in-1 charger that allows you to charge all your apple devices such as the iPhone, Airpods and Apple Watch. The design has all the charging elements lined up perfectly so you can see your phone even if your Apple Watch is charging as well. The HiRise 3 currently costs £91.
The HiRise 3 has an elevated stand that holds a MagSafe compatible iPhone upright for easy viewing. You are recommended to use a 20W power adapter which is unfortunately not included. You are provided with a 1.5m USB-C charging cable which is handy if you have a USB option in your wall plug socket otherwise you need to purchase a power adapter. When you plug the HiRise 3 into a power source expect all 3 devices to be charged in 150 minutes.
The Key features of the 3-in-1 charging stand:
- Compact Design – Only requires the use of one cable meaning it will clear up a potentially cluttered nightstand.
- Minimalist Design – disappears into the background with the focus on the Apple devices.
- Vertical Phone Support- The pad that holds the phone is 82% larger than other puck chargers so the iPhone is well supported and it’s easy to tap the screen to view any notifications.
- Multi-Purpose Base Charger- The base offers wireless charging not just for your Airpods but for any Qi-enabled device.

Unboxing
The Twelve South packaging always stands out from the crowd The image on the front of the box instantly tells you what you’re getting inside. On the rear of the box, it provides all the details you need in terms of compatibility of devices you can use and the charging speeds of each part of the stand.
When you open the box you are greeted with the following HiRise3 charging stand, 1.5M charging cable and a user guide.
What you will notice is the HiRise 3 does not come with a power adapter as mentioned at the start of this review. I found this a little odd as the device needs at least a 20W adapter so all parts of the charging stand can provide a full charge. I would have liked this to have been included as it’s an inconvenience if you do not have a 20W power adapter laying around the house.
Design
The HiRise 3 has a compact design measuring 6.5 x4.8 x3.4 inches. (HxDxW) and is very lightweight coming in at only 0.7 lb. The HiRise 3 10W charger is compatible with iPhone 12 and above and Airpods Pro with a MagSafe charging case. The 5W charger base is compatible with Airpods with a changing case or you can even charge a phone that has Qi compatibility. Finally, the Apple Watch charging stand is compatible with all Apple watch models from the early series 1 to the latest series 7 models.
In terms of the overall design, it looks great but there is room for improvement, for example, there is no indentation on the stand so you know exactly where the AirPod case needs to be positioned. What Twelve South did instead is positioned the Twelve South logo to indicate the spot you need to place the buds. The indentation was not added as you can also use the base to charge other Qi-compatible devices.
Performance
I have been using this stand regularly by my bed to charge my devices at night but I wanted to test the stand if you were to use this in an office environment and got the following results when charging my iPhone 12, Apple Watch SE and Airpods Pro over a 30min period:

Verdict
The stand is very well built and the curved base allows it to blend into most desk setups with ease. The iPhone changing magnet is very strong so your phone wont be at risk of falling off but you will need two hands to take the phone off the stand as the stand may move when removing the phone off the base. Twelve South could have made the base a little heavier to remove this problem but it’s hardly going to prevent you from buying the stand.
Overall if you’re looking for that minimalistic design in your charging stand that fits nicely on any desk and allows you to reduce the amount of charging cables needed and lets you charge all 3 devices at once the HiRise 3 is an ideal option.
At £91 it comes in at a suitable price point and finally allows you to remove the charging cables and have that wireless set up to charge your Apple devices all at once. I also found checking for notifications at a single glance a really useful feature.
