The Xiaomi company has decided to add another means of charging your smartphones so you don’t have to hope only on direct electricity to charge. They have currently released the Mi Air Charge device which uses millimeter-wide waves to charge your smartphone remotely. This is a very good and efficient addition to other caliber of devices Xiaomi has.

Technically, the Mi Air Charge was designed by Xiaomi so the users of this item can remotely charge their electronic devices like your smartphones wirelessly. The means of charge is equivalent to the latest wireless charging tech. This is to say, it likened to the ones based on the widely adopted Qi standard. Furthermore, Xiaomi has worked so hard in developing an in-house isolated charging pile with a phase control array.  it consists of about 144 antennas which aid in the transmitting of millimeter-wide waves. However, the power transfers wirelessly using inductive charging over a distance of up to four centimeters.

Initially, this device was made charge wearable devices such as smartwatches and fitness trackers, and so on. interestingly, Mi Air Charge has the ability to power other low voltage devices in our homes or offices such as speakers and desk lamps, etc. The Mi Air Charge Technology supports the charging of multiple devices. This is to say, you can use this new tech to power or change different devices at once.  It will be so interesting and easy when you can power other electronics via air and without direct electricity.

Unfortunately, the only smartphones that can work perfectly with Mi Air Charge are expected to have an antenna array with a built-in beacon antenna and receiving antenna array. The Mi Air Charge gadget is not yet available for purchase because of some reason. But hopefully, it will be made available in no distant time and exposing us to Wireless charging patterns.
